About Me
Artist Statement
I have always loved drawing. When I was younger, I would often doodle on my class notes or trace images I admired. Some of my earliest memories are of doing crafts with my grandma which sparked my imagination and creativity.
In high school, I realized I wanted to pursue a career in art. As I explored different mediums and techniques, I discovered that creating helped me cope with anxiety and express emotions that were otherwise difficult to articulate. Art became a tool for emotional processing, reflection, and healing and has helped shape who I am today.
My process is both intuitive and responsive. I often begin with a feeling, memory, or a subject that I find interesting and let the materials guide me. I like to explore all kinds of media and often like to mix it up. I’m also drawn to methods that encourage mindfulness and grounding, such as zentangle, neurographic art, and repetitive subjects. These practices allow me to connect deeply with myself and regulate overwhelming emotions.
Today, art remains the way I reflect, regulate, and understand the world around me. I have explored personal themes such as grief, identity, and growth. My work blends observation with interpretation, combining recognizable imagery with emotional undertones. I hope that when people view my work, they gain a glimpse into how I experience the world, not just visually, but emotionally. Whether abstract or representational, my art speaks to the quiet, meaningful moments that shape us.

Professional Aspirations
My professional journey toward becoming an art therapist is a natural extension of my experiences with art as a tool for self-reflection and healing. I believe in the transformative power of creativity to foster self-awareness, resilience, and growth. Through my work with older adults in long-term care and high school–age foster youth in transitional programs, I’ve seen how artmaking can create space for connection, expression, and healing. These experiences have deepened my desire to bring art therapy into the lives of those who may benefit from non-verbal, creative approaches to care.
While I feel especially called to support individuals navigating emotional challenges, I am eager to continue exploring work with diverse populations. I believe everyone deserves access to creative tools for healing, and I’m committed to adapting my approach to meet people where they are emotionally, culturally, and developmentally.
Long term, I hope to create an environment offering art therapy that is grounded in empathy and promotes inclusiveness. Whether through individual sessions or group work, my goal is to use art to help people feel seen, supported, and empowered in their healing journeys.
